The summer map LomaSavo presents hiking paths, cycling routes, canoeing routes, excursion harbours, free wilderness shelters etc.
The V Tahko Rowing and Canoeing Event
The approximately 94 kilometre long Tahko water route passes through undiscovered wilderness areas of North Savo, finishing at the modern Tahko Holiday Resort in Nilsiä.
Three picturesque canals, large open lakes and narrow straits are included in the route.
Sauna bathing, tango dancing and traditional entertainment can be experienced during the evening programme. During the event, an extensive network of local businesses and village associations provide all necessary services along the route.
The facilities for attracting international clientele to the Lakeland area have been upgraded - the Lake Terminal with a marina and boating routes to the Kuopio Airport are ready.

Check our extensive internet atlas showing and describing all the major hiking, skiing, snow mobiling, cycling, riding, boating, and canoeing routes of North Savo Region!
The map contains the routes, their descriptions, photos, touristic enterprises, equipment rentals, sights, and recommendations along the routes… all the information needed for a successful trip.
The Atlas can be found in Finnish and in English. The information on the map increases all the time as the local authorities add more routes, information, photos etc. to the map.
We recommend the fresh light summers, the autumn forests full of berries and mushrooms, the winters with plenty of snow, and the springs when Nature awakens and birds migrate back North. All this gives unique opportunities for travellers to experience Nordic Nature.
