The skills base of Pohjois-Savo is wide. The University of Kuopio and its surrounding research units have received both national and international acclaim for their research and education. The Kuopio science park has a community of 10,000 experts and a concentration of high technology is developing there. The research and education carried out in the Kuopio science park spreads its influence throughout the entire region.
